Welcome to the new home of the Welsh Corgi Club of Wales

The Welsh Corgi Club is proud to be flying the flag for both the Pembroke Welsh Corgi and the Cardigan Welsh Corgi

Whilst you browse this site you may realise that it is far from complete, we are "a work in progress" and appreciate you bearing with us on this.

The Welsh Corgi Club was founded in 1925 and is the oldest surviving Corgi Club in the world. We are a dual breed club with the welfare of corgis everywhere in the world in mind.

Currently we have a committee of around 10 people who all share the same determination for the breeds to survive with ever dwindling numbers. With this in mind Health is of paramount importance to the survival of these breeds

The Cardigan Welsh Corgi has been declared on the vunerable breeds list in the UK and this is why it is so very important that clubs like ours fight the corner for this lovely breed.

Our committee members consist of some show dog owners, some pet dog owners and even a couple who don't own Corgi's but just love the breed. We always welcome new committee members so please keep an eye out for our AGM dates (usually in February) on the events calendar and do try to come along.

Our sole aim is to educate owners and prospective owners in how to care for their corgis of both the Pembroke breed and the Cardigan breed.

We intend to introduce various things onto the website over time, the most recent being the start of our Junior Welsh Corgi Club section, open to youngsters under the age of 24 with an interest in ANY breed of dog.

Our youngest member is 6 months old, our oldest member over 90 years old.  We welcome you all.

AIMS OF THE WELSH CORGI CLUB
  • To promote both the Cardigan Welsh Corgi & Pembroke Welsh Corgi worldwide
  • To invest in younger owners with regards to education, training and seminars
  • To promote the health, training and responsible breedership of both breeds of Corgi

Please note : we are a UK club but as this is the worldwide web you will find information on our site relevant in different parts of the world, please check information is correct for your country
